Weekly update 23/21

It was an honorable, but also a challenging invitation from the Zending over Grenzen Foundation, just like last year, to collect the remaining articles from the PLMA fair together.

Wednesday 24 May came closer and closer and the tension was rising without enough volunteers it certainly wouldn't work. Applications came in slowly. In the end it all worked out, there were more than 125 people in total to help. The catering team did a lot of useful work, the people of the RAI cooperated well, as did those of their service provider CEVA.

It is nice to see that we “emptied” the enormous building in a relatively short period of time. Loading the trucks took a while, but that also went well. The same evening the first three were released in Sint Pancras, so for a number of people it was really late.

On Thursday 25 and Friday 26 May, the loyal helpers came to the sorting location at the Spanjaarsdam in Sint Pancras. Here, the refrigerated products and the products that do not require refrigeration are separated and prepared for transport. A Romanian refrigerated trailer was also loaded on Friday and will unload its cargo in Botosani on Monday 29 May. We will load the second refrigerated trailer on Wednesday 31 May and it will go to Breaza.

In short, it worked and the result is overwhelming, what a lot and what beautiful products. Our share goes through our depots to poor people in Romania and Ukraine.

Thank you so much to everyone involved for making this possible.

Cristi from Botosani had the same photos and immediately sent an enthusiastic
one thank you letter. He took his time for this despite the fact that it was the wedding day (for the registry office) of his son Jason with Maria.

Here the link to this letter.

Imola from Breaza sent pictures of some of the activities there.

Henk Muller hasn't been feeling well lately, he was admitted to a clinic on Monday. Fortunately, he is now doing a lot better, he wrote today. Henk sent photos of activities in Band.

Attila from Peris has shared furniture, cake, etc. The last yard sale sold well. Lots for small prices, everyone happy. The proceeds are for the operating costs of the shelter for children in Peris.

Joszi from Tirgu Mures is busy with his soup kitchen for children, distributing the goods that we bring to the depot in Breaza. There is a lot of interest in the summer camps he organizes.

Wednesday 31 May we will load for Breaza and there will be the necessary collection jobs.
