Weekly updat 15/23

Tuesday, April 11, immediately after the Easter weekend, we were able to start loading a truck, destination Botosani. With a small group we had done this in one morning. The truck was in Romania on Thursday, fortunately no problems at the border. It has become a nice varied load.

Wednesday, April 12, there were not many jobs at first. At the last minute there was still a nice job added. Picking up furniture at a daycare center in Den Helder.

In Botosani all teams that came to help from abroad have left again. Cristi sent lots of pictures of the distribution in villages. Soon there will be a group from America, these people want to visit Ukraine, among other things.

On Saturday, April 15, the truck that was loaded on Tuesday in Broek op Langedijk was unloaded in Botosani. Igor came immediately with two vans to pick up goods that will be used in soup kitchens in Chernivtsi Ukraine.

Pieter Nagel from Minis shared a series of photos of the distribution of Easter packages in and around his hometown of Minis. Just a bit different, but even there you don't have to look for poor people with a lantern.

Henk Muller from Band is very busy every week. Last time I wrote about a new application for building a house. We have managed to get the necessary resources together for this, many thanks for that.

Monday we will load a trailer with goods at St. HiRF in Weesp, there is already a crew for it. On Wednesday there will be a trailer that we will load for Breaza.

Weekly update 7/24

Last week we shipped a trailer that will cover part of the route to Breaza by train. This concerns the stretch from Cologne to Arad, the trailer went on the train in Cologne and in Arad another tractor picks it up again for the last stretch to Breaza. We want to gain experience with this and thus avoid the crowds and controls at the Hungary/Romania border. On Wednesday, February 14, the loading of this trailer went well, there was quite a bit of repacking work and we were able to load a beautifully varied trailer with relief goods. The driver had to wait a little longer for his papers, Mission & Relief from Zevenhuizen produced additional documents. At 1:30 PM the driver headed to the terminal in Cologne. I don't know (yet) where the trailer is, we'll hear more about this early next week. Here is the link to photos. Weekly update 14/24

Another great week behind us with a lot of work done. On Wednesday, April 3, there were collection and clean-up jobs and stock from our temporary storage was brought back to the Dulleweg. On Thursday, April 4, there was a clothing campaign in a store in Heerhugowaard. And on Friday April 6, two trucks came to load. As a result, all the last 2.600 Easter packages are now on their way to Romania. A few photos of the loading. Csaba from Breaza has been busy delivering the first shipment of packages. The Phoneo Foundation from Reghin allows him to use a very handy van for this purpose. Many packages have already been delivered to people's homes. The rumors are spreading fast and he has already received questions: when are you coming to us? Weekly update 20/24

Yesterday Nico and I returned home safely from a useful and interesting trip to Romania. The main goal was to discuss the progress and the start of the season on the farm in Marghita with Attila. We were lucky with the weather, it was really spring, and the sowing and planting was in full swing. A beautiful period when you see what happens until the harvest period. I have often written that farmers in Romania are having a hard time due to... the low prices they receive for their products. Unfortunately, quite a few are now in danger of going under. Attila buys a large part of his planting material from a company in Hungary. A modern and large company that grows seeds into small plants under optimal conditions. During the tour we received, I asked, among other things, how future-proof this activity is. The answer was simple – as long as people continue to eat, this will continue.
