Weekly update 41/22

The war in Ukraine is far from over, the fighting is intensifying. Putin is returning to his old habits of almost haphazard bomb-throwing.

The town of Chernivtsi just 40 kilometers from the Romanian border was also targeted. Fortunately, anti-aircraft fire was able to prevent worse. Earlier I wrote about Igor and the soup kitchen we help to supply in this city, this from Botosani. Igor couldn't get new supplies for a few days, they all had to hide and the border was closed. How that happens is difficult to understand. Every day, for example, there is a column of trucks on both sides of the border, 20 kilometers long. The border is now open again, Cristi said, Igor will pick up things on Tuesday. On Monday he is pastor during the funeral of a fallen soldier of 21 years old.

Wednesday we managed to load two trucks, the first went to Ticau and Botosani. We were able to put together a nice load, including a lot of apples, clothing, etc. On Friday we unloaded in Ticau and Saturday in Botosani.

The second went to Breaza, another nice batch of goods. He was released there on Friday.

We received photos from a nursing home in Deda and a thank you from the
management. We have been bringing relief supplies here via the depot in Breaza for years. This is especially important at this time. The compensation they receive per patient is long enough to cover all costs.

The construction of the house for the family that now lives in a caravan is progressing well.

Wednesday we will load for the destination Marghita.

Pre-announcement Christmas packages, the packing days are on 10 and 11 November. We are going to make 4.500 packages, very much needed there, we trust that enough people will come to help again.
