Weekly update 24 and 25/22

Back from being away and one thing was clear upon return, the activities continued as usual. It is a blessing for our relatively small foundation that we can rely on so many committed volunteers.

By the way, the motorcycle tour was a great experience, two years later than planned, the 350 participants could enjoy it. Seven days in a row, an average of 50 motorcyclists and a service car left to ride this beautiful six-day trip.

On Wednesday 15 June, hard work had to be done, there were a lot of collection and clean-up jobs. For some volunteers it has become a bit late.

On Wednesday 22 June we were able to put together a very nice load, a quarter of the trailer went to Reghina in Ticau and the rest to Botosani. All the remaining products that we were able to pick up at the PLMA fair in the RAI are now on their way. Via Cristi from the distribution point in Botosani, part will go to the Ukraine, for example to refugee camps there.

The truck will arrive in Botosani on Monday.

The battle in the Ukraine is far from over and makes many victims every day, completely unnecessary, but nobody seems to be able to stop the Russian criminal Vladimir Putin. There is much more going on worldwide, this morning I read in the newspaper that there are now a hundred million displaced persons on our earth, a sad record, unimaginable.

The supermarket chain Vomar has held a campaign among its customers, you could do an extra message for the victims of the war in the Ukraine. This has become a successful campaign and our foundation will take care of the distribution in Ukraine. We will do this through the network of Cristi from Botosani. Last Thursday we were able to pick up a trailer full of non-perishable products such as soup, preserves, diapers and care products from the Vomar distribution center in Alkmaar.

Miranda and Gerard-Jan Schuur returned to the Netherlands on Friday after a tour of an important part of our distribution points in Romania. It has been a blessed journey with many beautiful moments, Miranda wrote. The photo album below makes clear why.

In Breaza they have been busy with the distribution of the many items of the PLMA action. It has become a great success. Nice to see that so many poor people get something to eat through the huge fundraising campaign in the RAI. It was a lot of work but the result is great and that's what matters.

Imola and Csaba came into contact with József Mucui, someone who grew up in a deprived area. József now has an aid organization, he works in Valea Rece near Tirgu Mures. Items from the PLMA have also gone here. Good that there are such people.

Henk Muller also continues to help poor people in his environment in all kinds of ways. It remains intriguing these stories of someone who experiences this unbelievable poverty up close on a daily basis.

Toth Attila from Peris sent a few more pictures of the activities in the orphanage there.

Next Wednesday there will be pick-up jobs again and we will load for the destination Breaza.
