Weekly update 16/22
On Wednesday 20 April we loaded another truck, the contents of which for the most part go to the Ukraine. As I wrote last week, we then had the opportunity to replenish our stock with mainly food. This beautiful batch of very useful foodstuffs, with a value of many thousands of euros, has therefore been loaded. This direct way of providing aid is important to the many people who live there in terrible conditions.
That we can do this thanks to the efforts of volunteers and the generosity of sponsors is very nice to experience. Many thanks for this.
With vans it goes from Cristi's depot in Botosani into the Ukraine. The truck arrived in Botosani on Saturday 23 April, part was immediately transferred into vans and taken away into the Ukraine.
In Romania they now celebrate Orthodox Easter and many people have a few days off. The vans with a Romanian owner and driver will drive again on Tuesday to bring the goods into Ukraine. Important work that involves many risks.
Cristi sent a series of photos of all the activities. Also from distributing a number of Easter packages.
Last week I also wrote about the potatoes, onions and carrots that were ready for transport on the farm in Marghita. These were loaded on Wednesday and on Thursday 21 April this 22-tonne freight arrived in Botosani. They were immediately transferred to vans and late at night the entire load had already been brought into the Ukraine. Impressive how Cristi and his team manage to organize all this.
Here the link to pictures of the transport from the farm.
Just like here, Covid has not disappeared in Romania, they have also had to deal with it in Casa Ioana. One of the boys has even been hospitalized. The quarantine is not so strict anymore, but the children have to stay inside for five days, which is very difficult for them.
The batch of potatoes for Ronald Wolthuis from Phoneo was collected on Thursday in Marghita and is now in storage not far from Siret. After the Orthodox Easter, a number of transports are sent into the Ukraine.
Paul from Getz sent a series of photos of the distribution of the packages.
And later photos of an Easter celebration with a large group of young people.
Imola from Breaza has posted a new message on her blog.

Ilja Witte from Phoneo from Reghin sent a report of the delivery of the packages with some photos.
Reghina from Ticau also sent pictures.
Henk Muller has been suffering from the flu for a week, it doesn't seem to just go away.
Next Wednesday there will be no activities in the warehouse in Broek op Langedijk.
