Weekly update 15/22

The past week has been used to get things back in order in our warehouse in Broek op Langedijk. On Wednesday we were able to pick up goods to replenish our stock. Among other things, three pallets (!) with foodstuffs that were ready for transport at Jan Valk's house in Zaandijk. This beautiful lot was submitted by our friends from M.C. Promotion and by a number of old acquaintances from former aid transports from the Zaan region. Just like a number of Reformed churches in this region. A great move, many thanks for that.

Cristi sent a huge amount of photos taken by people bringing goods into Ukraine and handing out the Easter packages with his guests from Canada and Austria. They also went with a group into the Ukraine to places where it is relatively quiet. I pasted the accompanying text from Cristi between the photos, impressive actions. Casa Ioana was (too) full with: 19 children, 1 employee, 1 volunteer, 18 Canadians and 6 refugees from the Ukraine.

Not only through us, but also others send more and more goods to Cristi, nice to see that his network continues to grow and (even) more people are helped.

In Breaza, Emma, a girl who lives with Csaba and Imola, made confession during Pastor Edward's service at the Reformed church there. She wanted this very much, her father and stepmother were there too. All in all, a special event that gave a lot of joy.

Furthermore, the rest of the week it was a lot of hard work in Breaza to get all the goods and packages that had entered the depot to their destination. I think it all worked out well. All packages have been taken to their many contacts in this area. On Wednesday, Csaba and Imola will be handing out packages in Breaza itself. In a few small villages in the area of old people's homes, the loneliness was striking. Their children have left, often also abroad, some have very good jobs there, and it is often not enough to look after their parents.

Reghina from Ticau sent pictures of the distribution of the packages, it all looks very orderly. Help in the form of food is especially welcome at this time of year.

A new girl has come to live in Toth Attila's childcare facility in Peris, and there are still five refugees from the Ukraine. The food packages also arrived here at the right time, Attila wrote.

Henk Muller again sent a whole series with an explanation, this gives a good insight every week of what is happening there.

Max Veenstra of St. HRIF came up with the question, are there still potatoes on the farm in Marghita? He had a sponsor who would like to have a cargo delivered to Satu Mare. However, Attila's potatoes were almost finished. Attila then came up with the proposal to buy at the wholesale market in Oradea. This resulted in the purchase of 14.000 kg of potatoes, 4.000 kg of onions and 4.000 kg of carrots at a competitive price. Last Tuesday, this cargo was taken to a warehouse near Satu Mare, from where it will be brought into the Ukraine. A good thing that has been a success, mainly thanks to Attila's efforts. As a result, many people get at least important basic food.

Thanks to sponsors, we were able to copy this concept a few more times! At the farm, two loads are now ready for transport to the Ukraine. A total of 28.000 kg of potatoes, 8.000 kg of onions and 8.000 kg of carrots. One cargo is going to transport Ronald Wolthuis from St. Phoneo, he wants to get the food as close as possible to Mariupol and also to Kharkov where someone is feeding 200 people.

Ronald and his team are very active with bringing food to the Ukraine, they were in Bucha, among others.

Cristi has the second shipment brought into Ukraine through his network. Exciting how this will continue, great that we can organize something like this. Next week I hope to have news how this went.

Next Wednesday we will load a truck in Broek op Langedijk for Cristi from Botosani and all the collected food will go from there into the Ukraine.
