Weekly update 14/22

The volunteers of our foundation have worked hard again over the past week. We make full use of the opportunities we have to help people.

Like many other organizations in our network, we also help in the Ukraine, especially through Cristi's depot in Botosani. The truck loaded on Friday April 1, was unloaded on Tuesday April 5 in Botosani. The 600 Easter packages are distributed in and around Botosani, among the often poor people there. A group from Austria and also from Canada (!) will come to help with the distribution. The rest of the food, like that of the previous shipments, goes to various cities in Ukraine. The photos I received from Cristi (which he received from the drivers who deliver this), show, among other things, destruction of buildings and weaponry. It is hard to imagine how the people there have to suffer and suffer. We will continue to bring relief supplies in that direction as much as possible. Bringing it into the Ukraine is not without danger, however, surprisingly many people do this.

On Wednesday 6 April, two Romanian trucks arrived at the same time in Broek op Langedijk to load. The first was loaded with destination the distribution point in Marghita and the second got the destination Breaza. A nice job, it all went smoothly, just like the pick-up jobs.

In the afternoon of Friday, April 8, the first truck was in Marghita to unload. They immediately picked up the packages for Inci and Domien from Salard.

Attila immediately organized the transport to Reghina in Ticau. Pieter Nagel from Minus will also be collecting his share soon.

The second truck was in Breaza early Saturday morning and was unloaded there with combined forces.

We were able to load a third truck to also get the last packages to their destination. Saturday morning 9 April we loaded it with a small group. At the beginning of next week this will first be unloaded at Marien Kroon in Floresti and then on to the depot in Breaza and to Phoneo in Reghin.

The package promotion has therefore been successful and all packages are on their way to people who can use them very well.

From Henk Muller I again received photos with an explanation of this. Nice to see how it all goes.

Together with Attila from the farm in Marghita, we are working on getting even more potatoes, carrots and onions into the Ukraine through our various partners. This idea is developing positively and getting underway, more about this next time.

Our stock in Broek op Langedijk has shrunk quite a bit, depending on what will come in, we plan the next transport. There are some pick up jobs on Wednesday.
