Weekly update 35/21

On Tuesday 17 August, a group of volunteers transferred school furniture, which had been stored in a container in Heerhugowaard, to our storage in Broek op Langedijk.

On Wednesday, August 18, a large group of volunteers loaded a Romanian trailer, this time destined for Botosani. A few other teams have done pick-up jobs. It all went smoothly and without any problems, yet there were some gloomy faces at the end of the day.

A few months ago the storage was still completely full, now it is completely different, the level of our stock is (too) low. What is especially lacking is food, when I return from our walking holiday (September 4) I will get to work trying to change this. If anyone reads this and thinks there may be something I can do about it, please pass it on. For the poor slobs we care about, all help is welcome.

Cristi is happy with his cargo, they will probably unload on Monday. He sent a lot of photos of handouts.

Reghina has also worked hard again, she immediately started handing out the new stock. They were also very happy with the potatoes from the farm in Marghita, it is a very useful and nutritious product for the people there.

Toth Attila from Peris / Reghin was able to have a house built for a few poor

unlucky ones. Nice to see that he cares about the fate of these people and knows how to realize a solution.

Imola from Breaza has written a blog piece about the activities there, Breaza is and will remain an important hub of aid campaigns.

So next week no trailer can be loaded, but there are a number of pick-up actions I'll send a message about that via the whatsapp group.

I am writing this message in Bernried on Lake Starnberg in southern Germany, the starting point of our 6-day hiking tour. The rain is pattering on the windows and tomorrow they expect a lot of rain here. We hope it's not too bad, the 26 kilometers long journey seems to be very beautiful (if it doesn't rain).
