Weekly update 33/21

It has been a busy week for our team, with a few exceptions for the over 70s. Wednesday 11 August with clearing and preparing the goods for transport and collection jobs. The Red Cross Hospital had a nice batch for us, as did Dorcas in Schagen and the clothing bank in Egmond.

On Thursday, August 12, two empty trucks with trailers were standing in front of the door, loading 180 m3
of a total of approximately 35 tons is quite a challenge. Fortunately there were enough experienced volunteers to make this happen and it all went well. After lunch there was still an hour to work and at 2 pm both trucks left for Romania. The truck for Breaza will be unloaded there on Monday. The truck for Deaj came with double crew, has already arrived and also unloaded.

Henk Muller sent a message about the berry pickers from Romania from Haranglab, among others. They have been lucky with their client, according to Henk. There is an enormous demand for workers from other countries, the arrangements are made as attractive as possible for them.

Also photos of the unloading of the truck in Deaj and the distribution of relief supplies, including a batch of pizzas that Viorel had received from a Romanian foundation and vegetables from his own greenhouse. Furthermore, the photos speak for themselves and give a good insight into the life of the people there. An interim question: what will it look like there in 25 years?

He has organized a multi-day and well-attended mission camp for people from his environment.

It is still very warm in Romania, according to Weeronline it will remain that way for a while, cooling and rain can use them well.

Saturday we could have held the annual BBQ again at Jaap en Geeske in Schagerbrug. Butcher shop Arie Klaver guarantees quality and we also get a nice discount. Our cook Gerrit had also made some extra salads, including a fruit salad, all just delicious. Kees's tent also makes things a little different, it's great that something like this can also be organized in such a way.

It turned out to be a pleasant evening, it was a nice opportunity to meet each other in such an informal way.

A truck with trailer is on request to load next Wednesday, half for Marghita and the other half for Ticau. We hope that some extra food will come in, at least we can pick up a few pallets at St. Manna.
