Weekly update 23/21

Through an organization from our network, we were able to pick up a batch of food especially suitable for young children on Tuesday. Very useful for our projects in Romania.


On Wednesday 2 June, another truck was loaded in Broek op Langedijk. This time with destination Marghita and Ticau, it went smoothly and well, after lunch the truck left for Romania.

In Urk, at the secondhand store Waypoint, we were able to pick up a nice batch of furniture and other useful items. The net proceeds of this huge thrift store (1,200 m2) go to a foundation that offers professional help to people who have become addicted to drugs. Unfortunately a major problem in our beautiful country.

The Red Cross hospital in Beverwijk was able to make a batch of medical aids available. Many hospitals and care institutions in Romania are struggling with shortages in all kinds of areas, these kinds of things are in great demand through our network there. Together with other pick-up jobs, there were again enough jobs for our volunteers.

On Saturday 5 June, the truck arrived and unloaded in Marghita and Ticau without any problems.

Henk Muller sent photos taken by, among others, Viorel from Deaj. A new place has been found by Viorel on the outskirts of Tirgu Mures where people live in bad conditions. It's unbelievable that this goes on and on and there's so much government disinterest in really addressing this. Fortunately, together with our partners, we can mean something to these people and give them a glimmer of hope.

When you read in the newspaper that workers from Romania are being exploited in an incredible way by an asparagus farmer from Limburg, you know for sure that the perfect society does not exist in the Netherlands either. Eliminating all injustice from the world, that is not the case for the time being.

Reghina again sent pictures of her work, such people make the difference.

Toth Attila from Peris/ Reghin sent some pictures of the garden at the new children's home in Peris, everything is ready there to accept children. Unfortunately, the opening of this beautiful children's home is still delayed, due to. issuing the necessary permits. Also in this case a lot of bureaucracy and incompetence of officials.

Cristi also sent photos with an explanation. He received 2,000 kg of mushrooms from a foundation in the town of Roman, which he has been busy distributing. Thanks to Cristi's commitment and creativity, all kinds of special things happen in Botosani. For the first time in a long time, a team from Austria will come again in June to help him with all kinds of jobs.

There are again possibilities in Romania to organize summer camps for children. Phoneo from Reghin is also taking this up again. This is a great experience for the children concerned.

Wednesday we are going to load for Breaza and there are pick up jobs.

Weekly update 8/23

On Tuesday, February 21, we were able to collect more than 3.000 kg of seed potatoes from farmers in the Wieringermeer, a nice gesture from these kind people. Henk Muller from Band can enjoy his garden projects again. There is also plenty for the gardens in and around Breaza. On Wednesday we were able to load them immediately, together with hospital beds, apples, some cake and other food. Another nice load that arrived in Breaza on Friday evening and was unloaded on Saturday morning. Wednesday was busy with repacking work and loading and collecting, it all ended up on its feet again. Here is the link to photos. Like every week, Henk Muller is busy offering help to his fellow man. Handing out goods, leading a youth club, building houses and surroundings. improve, you have to have a lot of energy to keep this up. H

Weekly update 7/24

Last week we shipped a trailer that will cover part of the route to Breaza by train. This concerns the stretch from Cologne to Arad, the trailer went on the train in Cologne and in Arad another tractor picks it up again for the last stretch to Breaza. We want to gain experience with this and thus avoid the crowds and controls at the Hungary/Romania border. On Wednesday, February 14, the loading of this trailer went well, there was quite a bit of repacking work and we were able to load a beautifully varied trailer with relief goods. The driver had to wait a little longer for his papers, Mission & Relief from Zevenhuizen produced additional documents. At 1:30 PM the driver headed to the terminal in Cologne. I don't know (yet) where the trailer is, we'll hear more about this early next week. Here is the link to photos. Weekly update 41/23

On Wednesday we were able to load another truck with relief supplies. This time for Marghita and Ticau. We had quite a bit of stock so that we could put together a nice shipment again. We were extra careful with loading so that we would not have any problems at the border. This extra work has been useful, this truck crossed the border between Hungary and Romania without any problems on Friday. Besides loading the truck, there was plenty to do on Wednesday, for example we received a batch of lentils in large packaging. This can be done in small plastic pots that we have had in stock for some time. Also picking up stuff and cleaning up, another day well spent. Here is the link to photos. At the end of the afternoon on Friday, most of this cargo was unloaded in Marghita and potatoes and vegetables were loaded there for Ticau.
