Weekly update 20/21

It's a bit of a strange time for me, I haven't been to our storage for a few weeks and despite that, two trucks with relief supplies have been shipped to Romania this week. This says something about the commitment and skills of our volunteers. The fact that I did not go to the storage is because I missed the last step of the stairs on the last day in our old house, resulting in an injury to my elbow. Now in a cast and on Monday 17 May an operation will follow to put the broken bone in its place. Not very smart, but yes it happened. A bit of a false start, but we now live comfortably in our comfortable apartment with a beautiful view of a lake.

Wednesday, May 12, a trailer was loaded for Deaj, the location of Henk Muller. Henk himself has been in the Netherlands for a while. The lead in Deaj is now in the trusted hands of Viorel.

Loading went smoothly, but it was quite a job due to all the tidying up in the storage. In Amsterdam some repackaging of frozen food still had to be done. This was also successful and on Friday 14 May a freezer trailer was loaded with a total of 26 pallets of high-quality foodstuffs. They will be very happy with the recipients in Botosani.

Cristi from Botosani again sent many photos and messages. A foundation from Austria has
delivered all kinds of playground equipment. The roof of the oldest part of Casa Ioana started to leak and has been replaced. The fact that the beds from Zuyder Waert ended up well can also be seen in a number of photos.

Reghina also sent pictures of her work again. Gerrit van der Starre sent a newsletter on behalf of St. Emeth with interesting messages.

Imola posted a new message on her blog and sent some nice photos taken during a tour in the area. Let's hope it will soon be possible to travel to Romania again without any problems.

Marien Kroon sent a report on the distribution of the potatoes that were brought there from the farm in Marghita. The second report is about the distribution of the Easter packages. It is clear from these reports that help is very much needed and welcome in many places.

When moving house, all kinds of things come to the surface, I came across an article that I wrote almost 25 years ago in the staff magazine of the bank where I worked at the time. This with, among other things, an explanation why I started a trip to Romania, I could not have imagined what impact this would have on my further life.

The Renault A1 was a special truck.

Wednesday we will load for Breaza, this time mainly hospital beds. In Oudorp we can pick up a number of beds from Magnenta care on Monday.

Do not come to Dulleweg 20 in Broek op Langedijk without notice, we must remain careful.
