Weekly update 17/21

Last Tuesday and Wednesday the last beds were collected from Zuyder Waert in Heerhugowaard.

On Wednesday, April 21, we were able to form two teams, the first shift was to repackage frozen food at a different location. Soon this will be transported to Botosani where it will be very welcome.

The second team has loaded a trailer in Broek op Langedijk with destination Botosani where it was unloaded on Saturday. Another nice load for Cristi and his team.

Thursday April 22 Attila loaded a trailer at the farm in Marghita with 23,000 kg of potatoes, which were taken to four different addresses. Henk Muller in Deaj, Phoneo in Reghin, Toth Attila in Peris and Imola and Csaba in Breaza. Our contacts there were happy to be able to distribute this useful product again.

In addition to the potatoes, St. Phoneo from Reghin was able to distribute 450 packages with foodstuffs. I expect there will be a report with pictures.

It is great that in such a short time we have been able to make so much food available in addition to other useful things. Thousands of people living under difficult circumstances have been helped. Thanks again to everyone who helped make this possible.

On Wednesday we will load half a trailer for Reghina in Ticau and the other half will go to Marghita.

On Tuesday, February 21, we were able to collect more than 3.000 kg of seed potatoes from farmers in the Wieringermeer, a nice gesture from these kind people. Henk Muller from Band can enjoy his garden projects again. There is also plenty for the gardens in and around Breaza. On Wednesday we were able to load them immediately, together with hospital beds, apples, some cake and other food. Another nice load that arrived in Breaza on Friday evening and was unloaded on Saturday morning. Wednesday was busy with repacking work and loading and collecting, it all ended up on its feet again. Weekly update 7/24

Last week we shipped a trailer that will cover part of the route to Breaza by train. This concerns the stretch from Cologne to Arad, the trailer went on the train in Cologne and in Arad another tractor picks it up again for the last stretch to Breaza. We want to gain experience with this and thus avoid the crowds and controls at the Hungary/Romania border. On Wednesday, February 14, the loading of this trailer went well, there was quite a bit of repacking work and we were able to load a beautifully varied trailer with relief goods. The driver had to wait a little longer for his papers, Mission & Relief from Zevenhuizen produced additional documents. At 1:30 PM the driver headed to the terminal in Cologne. Weekly update 41/23

On Wednesday we were able to load another truck with relief supplies. This time for Marghita and Ticau. We had quite a bit of stock so that we could put together a nice shipment again. We were extra careful with loading so that we would not have any problems at the border. This extra work has been useful, this truck crossed the border between Hungary and Romania without any problems on Friday. Besides loading the truck, there was plenty to do on Wednesday, for example we received a batch of lentils in large packaging. This can be done in small plastic pots that we have had in stock for some time. Also picking up stuff and cleaning up, another day well spent. Here is the link to photos. At the end of the afternoon on Friday, most of this cargo was unloaded in Marghita and potatoes and vegetables were loaded there for Ticau.
