Weekly update 14/21

The truck that we had loaded with frozen food on Friday March 26 was unloaded on Monday March 29 in Breaza and Deaj. The distribution went smoothly and quickly, thousands of people were made happy with these products. Recipients loved it. Csaba and Imola had arranged the distribution very well. Nursing homes with a budget that is too small to take good care of the residents have been given a portion. Just like an organization responsible for 350 orphans with the same problem. The permanent core of the many relief workers who care about the Roma population and the many poor people in their environment have also been able to distribute royally. Henk Muller in Deaj has also been busy with it and made many people happy again.

Especially at this time of the year, many people have really run out of supplies and money. Retailers in small villages sometimes sell on credit, with the idea that these customers have a chance to earn some money in the spring and summer. This “system” is faltering, many retailers are financially at their ceiling, just like the credit worthiness of their customers.

Once again the freight has been received with great gratitude, a big thank you to the donors who made this possible. An agreement has been made with the donors of these goods not to share photos of this event, something we naturally respect.

On Tuesday, March 30, hospital beds could be picked up again at Zuyder Waert, part of Magentazorg in Heerhugowaard.

Wednesday, March 31, we loaded a Romanian truck with destination Botosani, another beautiful load, partly with goods suitable for the packages that they are going to make there. These packages are supplemented with food items that will be bought in Botosani. In this way the poor people there still get a nice package. The Orthodox Easter is in early May.

Thursday, April 1, we were able to pick up a nice batch of clothing at St. Hirf in Weesp, as a small foundation being part of a good network is in everyone's interest.

The bakery in Getz is in the pilot phase, but works very well. It is still a bit of experimentation and not everything works out, but it is going in the right direction.

Reghina continues to provide assistance to the people in her area. Floors have again been poured into the now well-known houses. Furniture brought food distributed, Reghina is a tremendous support to the people in her area.

I don't see our grandchildren doing this yet.
Henk Muller ditto, it is starting to become “normal” the messages we receive from him, but of course it is not. Henk was able to do some shopping with money from a sponsor and started distributing the food. The images speak for themselves.

The truck that we loaded on Wednesday was unloaded in Botosani on Saturday, they were very pleased with it again. It's great that we can work with such committed people there. Take a look at the video in the photo series below.

Toth Attila had several funerals again. He has an important but heavy task in this.

Wednesday we will load for a truck loading for Marien Kroon and Marghita. First unloading in Marghita and loading 10,000 kg of potatoes for Floresti there.

The corona virus does not give way yet, we have to remain cautious. Could not go to Dulleweg 20 in Broek op Langedijk without notice.

Jannie and Maarten Koel are moving on May 3, 2021, the new address is:

Zonnehof 69

1704 ZJ Heerhugowaard

Apart from the address, the contact details remain the same.

Zonnehof is not the name of a nursing home but a street name in the Stad van de Zon district. We are going to live there in a nice apartment with a beautiful view of Lake Luna.

Happy and blessed Easter.
