Weekly update 47 / November 2020
Last Tuesday we loaded another Romanian truck with a small group, this for the 49th time this year. It all went smoothly and at 12:30 am he left for Marghita. On Thursday afternoon, half was unloaded there and then loaded with 10,000 kg of potatoes. On Friday he arrived at Marien Kroon in Floresti. Unloading was quite a job, only a lift truck was available for the last four pallets. Representatives from six different aid organizations came to collect the potatoes. The reactions were very positive, demand exceeded supply, 15,000 kg would have been welcome too. Marien sends another report. The other items mainly go into the Christmas packages that Marien and his team will be handing out.

On Wednesday we were clearing up and preparing the goods that we will be loading in the coming week.
In Botosani there were plenty of activities again. A huge slab of concrete has been poured on Cristi's new piece of land, a gift from an entrepreneur from Botosani. On Thursday, a truck arrived from Austria with supplies from a relief organization related to a Pentecostal church there. Just a few examples of the importance of a good network.

On Wednesday the farm in Marghita was again loaded with 22,000 kg of potatoes along with a batch of carrots and celery. Thursday was the first unloading at John Fracker of the Our Life Mission foundation in a village near Bisitrita. The second in Breaza near Csaba and Imola and finally Deaj the village where Henk Muller is active.
It all went well, the reactions are only positive. The quality of the potatoes is excellent and the people who receive them are very happy with them. It sounds very basic a bag of potatoes and it is. There are often families with many children where everything is lacking, so a basic product such as potatoes is in the right place.
Csaba from Breaza is doing a lot better again, the injury to his leg is almost over. He could not really help with the release but careful walking succeeds. That is good because it is busy to arrange everything properly with the children and the distribution of the relief supplies. Imola is mainly responsible for organizing the package campaign, she is good at this. They now have years of experience in distributing relief supplies and an extensive network of people who want to help the weaker in their society.
Toth Attila sent pictures of distributing the potatoes he picked up from Breaza.
Reghina from Ticau also sent pictures of her beautiful work. There are more houses to be waterproofed there, there are now seven more on the list. The roof plates for this go with the next transport to Ticau and we are looking for a solution for the costs of the wood and the work. Together with the Emeth Foundation from Heiloo, we are committed to this, I am confident that this will be all right.
Henk Muller is currently still in the Netherlands, the people in Deaj led by Florin are busy there. The potatoes are also very welcome there.
In previous years around this time we were busy making Christmas packages and delivering them. Sometimes I was a bit dreadful but now I miss the crowds and the traveling, let's hope the problems are quickly under control.
Our Christmas package campaign is now completely different, it is more on the shoulders of our contact persons in Romania. Their commitment and decisiveness is great. It is a good thing that we can send a lot of useful stuff.
We are confident that despite the difficult circumstances it will be a great action and a lot of people will be helped by it. The number of people getting into trouble is increasing rapidly. So it's great that we can mean something to these people thanks to volunteers, sponsors and our local contacts.
A truck will be loaded next Tuesday with destination Breaza and Deaj. On Wednesday the next with destination Botosani. We have to remain vigilant and watch out for the risks with the virus and thus continue to work in small groups. Therefore, do not come to our store without an invitation.
