The distribution of the packages is already going well and more and more photos are coming in. People are very happy with it again. On Wednesday April 10 we loaded a trailer with destination Breaza. We were able to put together a nice mixed and valuable load of food, cookies, clothing, furniture and medical items. Food is especially important, not everyone can just walk to the store to do some shopping. The truck was on time and loading was not smooth, again there were enough people to help. The collection jobs also went smoothly, only Haye and Clement took longer on the road. The trailer goes on a train in Germany and goes to Arad. From there this trailer goes to Breaza with another tractor in front of it. The arrival date is not yet known. Here is the link to photos. On Friday, April 5, we loaded two trucks. The first came unloading on Monday April 8 at the farm in Marghita. A few pallets of potatoes could be loaded there for Reghina from Ticau, the second unloading address of this t

Another great week behind us with a lot of work done. On Wednesday, April 3, there were collection and clean-up jobs and stock from our temporary storage was brought back to the Dulleweg. On Thursday, April 4, there was a clothing campaign in a store in Heerhugowaard. And on Friday April 6, two trucks came to load. As a result, all the last 2.600 Easter packages are now on their way to Romania. A few photos of the loading. Csaba from Breaza has been busy delivering the first shipment of packages. The Phoneo Foundation from Reghin allows him to use a very handy van for this purpose. Many packages have already been delivered to people's homes. The rumors are spreading fast and he has already received questions: when are you coming to us? The poorest people are hungry, difficult for us to imagine, but in some communities, especially Gypsy communities, this is simply a fact. Here is the link to photos of Csaba and Imola. We took it easy for a while. On Wednesday, March 27, some items were returned from temporary storage to the Dulleweg. Further “shop daughters” removed from the rack, cardboard to G.P. Brought up, this kind of thing. In Hazerswoude-Dorp we were able to pick up a nice batch of chocolates. There was another collection job in Amsterdam on Thursday. On Monday morning, March 25, the first trailer with the packages arrived in Breaza. This all went well. Csaba immediately started further distribution, the recipients were very happy with it. Here is the link to photos. The second truck arrived in Marghita on Thursday. Attila also immediately worked on further distribution. The people from the gypsy community in Getz received a package. Inci and Domien from Salard also came to collect their share. Here is the link to photos. The next two trailers will probably arrive on Thursday, April 4, in Broek op Langedijk to load the last 2.600 packages. These are then sent to people's homes for the Ort

The parcel campaign was again a great success, no fewer than 5.200 were made. The tension was still high at the beginning of the week. The preparations looked good, but the number of products was just not quite enough. Thanks to people from our valuable network, we were able to solve this during the week and the stock was more than sufficient. We now have quite a bit of experience with production. Because demand continues to increase, we continue to push the limits of what is possible. Enough stock, space, a plan, it's all necessary. But more importantly, enough people who want to come and help. We can consider ourselves fortunate that fears of insufficient helpers were also unfounded this time. It is undeniable that the average age of volunteers is increasing and some have dropped out. During the packing itself you see how many people of good will are busy. Later, when the tension, or whether everything is going well, has disappeared, it really sinks in. All people with different

We did not load a truck for Romania last week. The stock we had before was not diverse enough to put together a nice load. In addition, packing the packages on March 21 and 22 requires the necessary preparation. On Wednesday, March 13, we made room for this in our storage at Dulleweg 20 in Broek op Langedijk. We temporarily have access to a storage space where things can be stored. The box supplier from Ermelo brought 5.500 empty boxes. On Thursday, March 14, two trailers from Romania arrived to unload with the food we had ordered from Penny Market there. Penny Market is part of the German REWE group. Despite the extra transport costs, this is cheaper than ordering in the Netherlands. Together with the existing stock we can put together 5.200 beautiful packages. Here is the link to photos. We are counting on a good turnout of people who will come and help us with this enormous job. The predictions look good. Unlike previous times, a truck will load packages on Thursday, March 21 and Fr

Yesterday Nico and I returned home safely from a useful and interesting trip to Romania. The main goal was to discuss the progress and the start of the season on the farm in Marghita with Attila. We were lucky with the weather, it was really spring, and the sowing and planting was in full swing. A beautiful period when you see what happens until the harvest period. I have often written that farmers in Romania are having a hard time due to... the low prices they receive for their products. Unfortunately, quite a few are now in danger of going under. Attila buys a large part of his planting material from a company in Hungary. A modern and large company that grows seeds into small plants under optimal conditions. During the tour we received, I asked, among other things, how future-proof this activity is. The answer was simple – as long as people continue to eat, this will continue. Enough ideas were discussed, the future will show what will become reality. Here is the link to photos. More

We shipped eight trailers of valuable relief supplies to Romania in the first two months of 2024. In collaboration with Jan Pilkes from St. Caritas, another three to Ukraine. Not a bad start, thanks to everyone who made this possible. We are starting to get used to transport by train, the first two trailers we shipped this way have now arrived at their destination. The journey takes a little longer, but this way we avoid delays at the border. On Monday, February 26, a trailer was unloaded in Breaza, which had been loaded in Broek op Langedijk on February 7. The contact persons from Csaba and Imola immediately came to collect items. At this time of year, poor people have an extra difficult time. Their pensions are quickly running out due to high energy costs and expensive food. The people living in poor shacks cannot yet find work as casual workers. At this time of year, nature does not provide much, except for some branches for the stove. The attached photo album gives an impression of
